Anele Mdepa

Anele has been involved in leadership development for more than a decade. He has dedicated his life to finding solutions to the challenges facing young people, in particular the youth of South Africa. In 2003, he founded a not for profit organisation, Our People Organisation which offered skills development programmes at schools in Khayelitsha. The focus areas were HIV/AIDS Awareness, Leadership, Diversity and Entrepreneurship. He particular enjoyed working with local and international students, academics, and school learners. In recognition of his work at the schools, he was conferred with the Louis Volks Humanitarian Award from the Lions Club. Prior joining Stellenbosch University, he worked at the Leadership and Social Responsibility Department at the University of the Western Cape. Currently, Anele is the Manager at the Student Governance Department at Stellenbosch University.
