Dr Nico Elema

Stellenbosch University, South Africa

Nico is the Manager of the Centre for Collaboration in Africa (CCA) at Stellenbosch University International, and responsible for creating an enabling environment for Stellenbosch University to partner and collaborate with other African universities. As part of his duties to manage bilateral relations with other African universities and global implementing partners, he also manages the Secretariats for the AUDA-NEPAD Southern African Network of Water Centres of Excellence and the PeriPeri-U network, which focus on Disaster Risk Reduction in the African continent.

Nico holds a PhD and MBA from Stellenbosch University, and after 15 years in the private sector, joined Stellenbosch University in 2011.
